Stream Alerts: Types, Setup and Best Practices
How stream alerts work, which types exist (follower, sub, raid, bits), how to add them to OBS and how to keep them from getting annoying.
À la carte
Every follow, sub or donation deserves its moment. We design alerts in your style so celebrating your community looks like your brand too.

Stream alerts are the notifications that pop up on screen when someone follows you, subscribes or donates. They’re small, but they’re the moment your community sees that you noticed them. At Epik Streamer we design custom alerts in your style, and you buy them per unit at $6 each.
An alert combines a visual element (an animation or image), a line of text and usually a sound, triggered when something happens on your channel. A la carte alerts are useful if:
You don’t need to cover them all on day one. With the two or three that happen most on your stream, the feel of your channel already changes.
You buy alerts per unit. Each alert is designed around you and comes with one revision. In your brief you tell us which ones you need and the style you’re after. Any other piece or format you didn’t order is treated as an additional service. If you also need the rest of your channel, the Epik pack includes alerts along with a logo, overlays, frames, panels, banners, emotes, badges and multiplatform OBS setup.
According to the OBS documentation, alerts are added with a Browser source. The general process is:
You don’t need plugins. If you’d like someone to set it all up for you, OBS setup is a separate piece.
For one or two alerts, buying per unit is the direct option. If you’re refreshing the whole channel, the Epik pack includes them with the rest of the pieces. To build the visual base before your alerts, look at overlays and emotes. And if you want to go deeper into how to set them up and which best practices to follow, read the stream alerts guide.
Buy your alerts, tell us what your community is like and we’ll design the notifications that celebrate every moment.
Data taken from each platform's official documentation.
Each alert costs $6. You buy them per unit, so you only pay for what you need. In the Epik pack, alerts are part of the list of pieces.
The most common are follow, subscription and donation or bits alerts. In your brief you tell us which ones you need and what you want them to convey.
Alerts show up in your broadcast through OBS, which streamers on all three platforms use. Tell us your main platform in the brief.
No. OBS states in its documentation that you don't need plugins to use alerts: they're added as a Browser source with the URL your provider gives you.
One revision included at no extra cost per piece. From the second one there's an additional charge, and if you change the concept it counts as a new production.
Payment is in full and direct on PayPal, at the time of purchase. There are no later charges.
